2024 GOLF TOURNAMENT –Please mark your calendar for our annual golf tournament which will be on SATURDAY the 12th of Oct at Cypress Lakes. The tournament was moved to Saturday in hopes of expanding attendance with folks not having to take off from work to play. PLEASE plan to play, sponsor a hole sign or AT LEAST provide one or two door prizes in the $20-25 price range so we can continue to have a door prize for each golfer. This is our second largest fund raiser for the Club so PLEASE plan to help.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE -- will host a New Member orientation on Thursday, May 30th at Holmes Security at 7:30 am.
FAMILY FUN DAY – Will be on June 23rd at the Kiwanis Rec Center. Please contact Worth or Felicia Smith or Russ Jones to help or to provide a sponsorship.
TERRIFIC KIDS – Diane Parfit thanked all those who made end of year Terrific Kid presentations over the past few weeks. If you are not acting as a POC for one of the schools, YOU ARE REALLY MISSING OUT. Several of us are POC for more than one school, so PLEASE contact Diane and ask to be a school sponsor. It is one of the easiest jobs in the club as all you do is deliver supplies to your school in the fall and then make the Terrific Kid of the Year presentation in the SPRING. Diane’s ph # is 910-257-5286.
PROGRAM – Our program today was brought to us by Prez Al. Mr. Zach Oldham, a former Marine and NCSU Alumni, is the Director of Master Planning at Fort Liberty. He provided some interesting info. The post is now the home to over 50,000 military members, 68,400 family members, employs just under 20,000 DOD civilians, economically impacts 11 counties to the tune of $8.8 billion annually, is the largest Army installation by population in the Country, and the third largest by land mass. Thanks for a great program Grace.
RAFFLE – Russ Jones walked away a little richer today!
WORDS FOR THE HEART – When you do what you LOVE, everything else falls into place !!
