NEWS FROM TODAY’S MEETING – George Hendricks introduced Tim Pope as a new member of the Club.  He was approved by the Board Thursday evening.  Welcome Tim !  We also had three members visit us from the Lillington Club.  Finally – PLEASE remember to support our Club’s sock drive.  Boys and girls up to 5th grade need athletic socks.  We got a fair start today with about 12-15 folks remembering to bring socks.  Three, five, or ten packs are preferred.  I got mine last night at Walmart and the 10 pack was under $10.  Black for boys and colors for girls.

LITTLE LEAGUE OPENING DAY – Is Saturday the 5th of April at the Honeycutt Park fields.  Please arrive to start setting up at 8:30 am and the activities should be concluded NLT 10:30 or 11:00.  Several are needed so please let President Jim know if you can come help.

DID YOU KNOW SEGMENT – Was presented by Lee Warren and honored club member Bob Exum.  Bob has been a club member since 1970 and his list of achievements both within our community and club took three full pages.  It was a great presentation and we are lucky to have Bob in our midst even though he was a UNC grad !!!

PROGRAM  – George Hendricks introduced Sarah and Eric See from Methodist University.  They are with the Department of Criminal Justice and discussed the Opioid epidemic we are facing both locally and across the country.  One bright spot they were happy to reveal is that the fentanyl pandemic is slowly improving.   Another interesting program.  Thanks George.

WORDS FOR THE HEART – Hope is the silent promise that tomorrow holds the possibility of JOY !!!
