KIWANIS KEY
Friday February 6, 2026
President Stephen Wheeler rung us in, and before we could even get to the pledge and My Country tis of thee, President No Tie did his best Worth Smith bad dad joke imitation. Finally, Kirby White led us in song and pledge. Debbie Best gave a heartfelt invocation.  The updated prayer list includes Robby Talton’s wife, Deanna, Tim Dunn, Barbara Porter’s daughter-in-law, Nicole, Charles T. Haigh, and Fred Cutter’s father-in-law.

‘Guess the Kiwanian’: a mystery Kiwanian (I could not hear who it was that guessed right) guessed that our Mystery Kiwanian who went to college at 17 was the middle of three boys and “has not been right ever since,” worked for 4 different colleges as a Music Minister was Mark Rice.

Hal Broadfoot introduced our program, which was Cath Rathbone. An author, teacher, trainer who facilitates Flow Writing Workshops, she claims that everyone has a story to tell and she tried to help us figure out how we can all tell ours. She had us all write stories with five common words, a question and an answer. There were some very creative Kiwanians with some fun stories. Thanks for an interesting program, Hal!

Yours truly took home $52 from the President’s Discretionary Extortion Fund. Ms. Johnnie gets a meal out this weekend!
