Volume LXXX Number 10 10 January 2025
Friday’s Meeting
We gathered on this first meeting date of the New Year under cloudy skies with future cold weather and ice storms forecast. None the less we had a very good turnout of this first meeting of the new year. Kirby “Dashing through the snow” White led us in the pledge and singing and Bob McAmis offered the invocation. Our infirmed list is as follows: Debbi Best’s sister, Kara; Kali Zigler’s son-in-law Ben; Kalli’s brother Jim; Ann Keith; Robbie Talton’s wife Deanna; Bobby Bleeker; Barbara Porter’s daughter in law Nicole; and Pat McAmis.
Birthdays this past week belong to Stuart Clarke, Walter Greer, and Norwood Bryan. Happy trip around the sun guys!

Program
Bruce “Back the Pack” introduced our guest speaker, The Rev David Harvin, who has traveled extensively in Israel and is somewhat of an expert in the complicated situation and balance of power in the middle east. David began by describing the October 7 attack on Israel by 1600 members of Hamas from Gaza. This was followed by Hezbollah militia massing on the northern border of Israel in Lebanon threatening the norther settlements which were evacuated. Israel reacted securing an agreement with Lebanon not to support Hezbollah and the complete cleansing of Gaza of Hamas associated fighters. The current situation with the fall of the Assad regime in Syria has weakened Iranian and Russian surrogates in the regions but potential threat to Turkey from the Kurds in Syria. It remains to be seen what the long-term effects of these shift in the balance of power will produce.
Sam Stryker (a guest) won the 50/50 raffle
Join us next week for a program from David Crocker (he began Operations IN as Much) and will speak about SERVICE. Should be a good program
