Friday Meeting
We had a very good turnout Friday to hear our honored guest, Past Kiwanis International President, Art Riley.  Every table was full thanks in large part to a good turnout from the Cape Fear Kiwanis Club, Angier/Coats Kiwanis Club and the Kiwanis Club of Raleigh represented by Past Governor, Chris White.  It was great to have such a good showing.  Garry Two R’s gave an inspiring invocation that described a chance encounter he had with a grateful mother and her special needs child at the newly renovated Kiwanis Rec Center playground on his way into the meeting.  It gave him pause to remember that “Kids Really Do Need Kiwanis”!

Kiwanis International Past President Art Riley
Past International Trustee Coop introduced his good friend Art Riley, International President from 2020-2021.  Art had a great slide presentation that truly drove home the fact that Kiwanis is a global organization as he recounted his trips to Malaysia, Cambodia, Belgium, Nepal, Barbados, and Panama to mention a few of the countries that comprise our organization.

Founded in 1915, Kiwanis International is a global community of clubs, members and partners dedicated to improving the lives of children one community at a time. Today, we stand with more than 550,000 members from K-Kids to Key Club to Kiwanis and many ages in between in 80 countries and geographic areas. Each community has different needs, and Kiwanis empowers members to pursue creative ways to serve the needs of children, such as fighting hunger, improving literacy and offering guidance.

Thanks, Coop, for bringing us another great program!
