Our Awards Night is always very special because we get to dress up, show up and cut up.  Friday’s gathering at Highland Country Club was no exception. President Al got us started and Kirby led us in the singing and pledge. Back the Pack Brown offered the invocation and the salad course followed.

 

We were blessed to have several widows of former members. We remembered those who have died during the last year: Maurice Wren, Marty Sternlicht, Sam Mears and Bob Bryan.

Past presidents Worth Smith and Ad Winters were recognized as well. Back the Pack also summarized the performance of the Van Story-Maxwell  endowment as follows: Value as of 31 Dec 2023-$368,330.00, Receipts $7759 and Disbursements $8000 for 2023.

John Holmes outdid his previous L&Rs with a take off on Interesting Newspaper Headlines. He entertained us with possibly the funniest examples of newspaper headlines gone wrong that we have seen. 

 

Al closed things out and had us out of there by 9pm.  Great job Awards Night Committee!
