2024 GOLF TOURNAMENT –Jay Gothard reminded all present that the golf tournament will be on SATURDAY the 12th of Oct at Cypress Lakes.  The tournament was moved to Saturday in hopes of expanding attendance with folks not having to take off from work to play.  PLEASE plan to play, sponsor a hole sign or AT LEAST provide one or two door prizes in the $20-25 price range so we can continue to have a door prize for each golfer.  This is our second largest fund raiser for the Club so PLEASE plan to help.

COMMITTEE OF THE MONTH – Prez Elect Jim Schaffer announced that the Board of Directors selected the Awards Night Committee.  It was indeed a fantastic evening !!!

PROGRAM – Our program today was brought to us by Sandy Saunders and was Jeff Darling, Director of the YMCA of the Sand Hills.  He discussed how he has enjoyed his relocation from California to this area this past year (a quote – everyone around here is so friendly compared to CA) as well as some of the many programs the Y brings to the area.  One astounding fact was that 40% of teens are struggling with mental health issues and how the YMCA programs are helping to alleviate some of those issues.  Thanks for a great program Sandy

RAFFLE – Bob McAmis walked away a little richer today!

WORDS FOR THE HEART -- A group of professional people posed the question "what does love mean" to a group of 4 - 8 year-olds.  A 5 year old little girl answered : “Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of fried chicken.”
