Attendance at our weekly meetings seems to be picking up and that is a great sign for our club. President Al got us started and called on Kirby White who led us in singing and the Pledge.
The invocation was given by George Hendricks. Please remember the following members in your prayers: Robby Talton’s wife Deanna, Gary Weller, Tim Dunn’s brother Preston, John Malzone and family, Kallie Ziegler’s son-in-law Ben, The Tal Baggett family, the CV Downing family, Debbie Best’s sister Kara Brittain, Diane Parfitt’s daughter Nicole, John Harbison, Bob Poole, Scott McInvaille’s son Ward.

Our sole guest today was Kallie Ziegler’s grandson Barrett.

Birthdays this week: Happy birthday to no one… There were no birthdays to report this week! If our records are not accurate, please let us know!

The Program
The program (introduced by President Al) was given by George Hendricks and Cheryl Gleason. George and Cheryl discussed the value of membership in our club, our role in helping to grow membership and methods we have at our disposal to reach the community in general. Social media has been helpful in promoting our activities and contributions. We can use the same methods to attract new members. The Membership committee is holding a social on September 11 at the Woodpeckers game and a social on October 2 at Kallie Ziegler’s home. Put those dates on your calendar and invite someone to attend.
Thanks to George and Cheryl for bringing an informative program.

Kallie Ziegler walked away with $37 from the Presidential Coercion Fund activity.

Editor’s Note: Your Board of Directors is putting considerable time and effort into evaluating the operations of the club given the aftermath of the pandemic and how we “do Kiwanis”. Each of us joined this club for the expressed purpose of serving and providing growth opportunities for the children of this community. One of the ways that you can help the club is to ramp up your attendance, not only on Fridays but also in the work of the committees. It takes all of us to make this club a thriving civic club, what many call the best civic club in Fayetteville! Give some serious thought to your commitment this week.
Parting words: Go the extra mile, it’s not crowded there…
