President Al got us started on time. Kirby was in fine voice for the singing and the pledge. Diane Parfitt offered the invocation, and the meeting was on the road.

Good to see one R and Woman Cooper back among us. Other guests make up most of Mark Rice’s family-Mark’s wife, His son in law and daughter.

• Jay Gothard and Steven Wheeler faced of in the election for our President Elect.  It was a close race with Steven winning in the end.  Congratulations!

• Family Fun Day is looking for volunteers please contact Worth or Felicia

• Our Service Leadership Committee is looking for members who would like to help with starting circle K at FTCC.  Please contact John Malzone.

• The visitation committee visited Clinton recently and plan on visiting Hope Mills on Tuesday 14 May leaving the Kiwanis Center at 1130am.

Program

Mark Rice Introduced his daughter, Dr Emma Bentham who presented a program on Hearing Loss. We learned hearing loss can be caused by a variety of reasons including ear buds, Noise, Pain Meds, Genetics and Aging.  Hearing loss can also be linked to depression, anxiety, and general cognitive decline.  There are now some Over the Counter Devices that are FDA approved but, in some instances, users are dissatisfied with them.  There is also some partial Insurance Coverage for hearing aids that has recently become available. Thanks for a informative and timely program.
