Kiwanis Key 03/19/2026
On this first day of Spring, President Stephen got us started and called on Mark Rice to lead in singing and the Pledge.
Allan Buffaloe gave a beautiful invocation.
Please remember the following members in your prayers:
Charles T. Haigh, Tim Dunn, Robby Talton’s wife Deanna, Barbara Porter’s daughter-in-law Nicole, Fred Cutter’s Father-In-Law and his daughter, Kirby White, Jay Gothard family and Henry Tyson’s daughter.
Guests: As has become his custom, President Stephen continues with his lame, Dad-jokes. After another questionable attempt, he welcomed our guests: Tim Jackson, Pat Nobles, Jill Cox, Dr. Christopher Thrasher and Deb Bouts.

The Program
The program, introduced by Tom Hatch, was provided by Jill Cox. Jill serves President/CEO for Communities in Schools or North Carolina.
She gave a very interesting program on Communities on Schools and their role in helping students succeed, not only in school, but in life. They partner with school systems and are currently in 7 of the schools in Cumberland County. Some of their work includes preparing and equipping students with durable skills that they need for post-graduation work. Additionally, they work with students who are re-entering school from Youth Development Centers. This was an excellent program, thanks Tom Hatch!
The Presidential Coercion Fund Activity (50/50 raffle) for $45 was won by George Hendricks. He promised to take his wife out to dinner with the proceeds. I think their destination is Weiner-Works….
Parting words: You make a living by what you get, you make a life by what you give.
Until next time,
