This Friday’s meeting September 6, 2024

 

 

“Take me out to the ball game, by me some peanuts and cracker jacks I don’t care if we never come back” Those of you that missed Friday’s meeting really missed a wonderful opportunity to get to know more about The Fayetteville Woodpeckers as their General Manager (and Kiwanis member) Michelle Skinner.  Michelle kept us engaged with facts and accomplishments of our favorite hometown minor league team. The Pecks play a 132-game season (66 road games and 66 home games) and are affiliated with The Houston Astros organization, They are engaged in community activities and sponsor many events at Segra stadium.  Michelle and her sidekick, Jim Th Hammer Ammons, passed out many Woodpeckers related raffle prizes and challenged all to come out to the Stadium batting cages this Wednesday from 5:30-7:30pm to test your batting prowess and to have some fellowship and adult beverages.

 

Jim Schaffer offered the invocation and two Rs led us in the singing and pledge, Please keep the following Kiwanis members and their families in your thoughts and prayers: John Malzon’e  family, Tal Baggett’s family, CV Downing’s family, Tim Dunn’s brothers, Kara Britain, Debbie Best’s sister, John Harbison , Kallie Zigler’s Son in law, Ben, Robby Talton’s wife Deanna, Diane Parfitt’s daughter , Nicole, Bob Pool, Parren Beals and George Hendrix’s mother.

 

We welcomed guests Will Schafer (Brownie Schafer’s grandson) and Adam Philips.
