Did You KnowPast President Ad Winters shared an interesting take on attorneys who are or have been members of the club over the years. He provided a lengthy list that included “some really old guys”… Their accomplishments professionally and for the community were duly noted. Clearly, we are better because of their participation in all aspects of the club. Kudos to Ad Winters for a great Did You Know presentation!

The Program
The program was provided by none other than our resident Ornithologist Hal Broadfoot. His program was less about a specific bird, but more about the origination of the name given to “Virginia’s Warbler”. This was a 30-year path for Hal, researching multiple sources, a field trip to the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC and some local sleuthing to determine that the Virginia (of Virginia’s Warbler) had a Fayetteville connection. On top of that, she was a member of Hal’s church and is a distant relation….  Some of the research included non-digital resources (hard-back books no less…).
Thanks to Past President Hal Broadfoot for bringing this exceptionally interesting program!

The Presidential Coercion Fund Activity (50/50 raffle) for $31 was won by Lee Warren. He purportedly will be splitting this with George Turner. Be sure to confirm this with George when you see him…
Tom Keith had the opportunity to pay not one, not two but three cell phone violations.
All in all, it was a great day at Kiwanis!
